Times I Want To Be A Famous Rocker
Now these two videos are things that I would love to be doing. I would love to travel around New York, Paris, anywhere and just play my music; play my music and have people recognize it. Wouldn't that just be wonderful? Check out Phoenix doing their thing around Paris and Matt & Kim doing their thing around NYC! Love 'em both. Shout out to PMA for the Matt & Kim vid!

Jhameel - Dance EP

Jhameel does it again. And for free. Again. This guy is so frackin awesome. With his slightly screaming vocals and his contemporary voice, he doesn't over do it on any of his songs, even "Shut Up" which definitely pushes the boundaries for screaming vocals and indie rock. My favorite however on the EP is Foundation. The Game Boy like tune throughout the song mixed with intense percussion, Owl City-esque vocals in the first verse, just blows my mind. This song reaks of chill summer ballin' 100% of the time. "I've seen the world in pieces, the higher powers beating." It even reeks of a good message, which always makes me a happy guy.
Second favorite out of the five is "Love Me Twice." This is classic Jhameel with his rythmic guitar and claps riddling the song and his far out vocals, probably auto-tuned, singing about a second chance and loving again. Deep stuff. Classic classic classic Jhameel. I would have thought this song was on his debut, free, album, The Human Condition.

Coldplay - Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall
Beirut - East Harlem

New Beirut. Now, Beirut has been around for a while and they have just been one of those bands that I kind of listen to, kind of enjoy, kind of want to download, but when I saw/heard this song over at AndygoesdowntoChinatown, I fell in love. This song is new to my ears and new to the ears of the puppies in the album artwork. I love this song. I hope you do also.
Sorry for not providing a downloadable link, I couldn't find one. I also didn't want to buy it. I'm not one to buy my music...
Death Cab For Cutie - Codes and Keys

Death Cab's long awaited album came out a couple weeks ago and it is freakin awesome. It is much less "guitar centric" sounding, as they said, but fully accomplishes the much expected and loved Death Cab sound, much in part to Gibbards stellar vocals. Here are two of my favorite tracks on the album, "Codes and Keys", the title track, and "Underneath The Sycamore." I hope their sound brings you as much joy as it has me.
